Routine

As we all begin a new semester, a lot of emotions come to mind. Excitement, exhaustion, ambition, etc. Regardless of what you feel, I can safely say the easiest way to get back in the game is to establish a routine. If you had a routine that worked last semester, then jump right back into it. If your routine was less than desirable, then now is the time to reinvent yourself. It is MUCH easier to get those students into the routine you want now, rather than 3 weeks down the road when you feel realize that things are not what you like.

All-State Children's Chorus 2011

Wow-what an event we had this past weekend with the All-State Children's Chorus! Over 300 children under the direction of John Jacobson presented a fantastic concert at the Lied Performing Arts Center in Lincoln. I hope many of you were involved in this wonderful event. So many positive comments were heard and will continue to be heard by parents, music educators and family members of the students involved. A HUGE thank you to Judy Welch and Judy Bush who organized this event!

Hi, everyone:

Spotify

In the NCDA Meeting/Reading session today I quickly mentioned Spotify (spotify.com). Below is a link to my wife's blog that has a witty break down of the uses of spotify. Once you have downloaded spotify, you can link it to your facebook page to access facebook friends' spotify playlists. You can also add users just by typing spotify:user:(sign in name). To simply add me to your spotify, type spotify:user:helzernm in the search column. Now go check out my wife's blog and spotify your little hearts out!

Greetings from a stranger...

I feel like it has been a while since I last blogged. As I write this blog I'm enjoying a nice iced coffee, fat free blueberry muffin, and checking over the last of this quarters grades. It is crazy to think that one quarter is already done. I'm just thankful that it is Saturday and my wife and I had an entire day to spend NOT concerning ourselves with homework, grades, practice, etc.
